Pastors Eddie and Stephanie are clear in Family Worship Center's vision. Our church is a place where the un-compromised Word of God is preached, and where God's Holy Spirit has freedom to flow in every service. We purpose in every service to praise and worship the Lord until His Spirit fills our church.
We endeavor to teach the love of God and the lifestyle of the victorious believer to all our members, from the smallest baby to the mature Christian adult. Pastor Eddie is a Fairfax County native, born and raised in Springfield, Virginia. After graduating from high school, he traveled with a contemporary Christian song artist serving as a Lighting and Special Effects Production Manager. After two years of traveling the United States in this capacity he attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. At Rhema, he met his future wife and ministry partner, Stephanie. Upon graduation they moved to Lakeland, Florida and became members of Family Worship Center of Lakeland where Reggie Scarborough is the Senior Pastor. After months of being faithful lay people in the church and volunteering in many areas of the church, both Eddie and Stephanie were hired on as full time staff at Family Worship Center of Lakeland in January of 1990. Eddie served Pastor Reggie as a Maintenance Supervisor, Singles Director, Church Activities Coordinator, Youth Pastor, and eventually as one of many Associate Pastors for Pastor Reggie Scarborough.
In early 1997 the Lord started dealing with both Pastor Reggie and Pastor Eddie that his future at Family Worship Center was to change. That fall, at the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the blessing and support of Pastor Reggie, he left Lakeland, Florida to pursue the will of God back in Fairfax County.
After 12 years of being mentored on the road, in Bible school and by Pastor Reggie, the Lord used these areas of training for what is happening now in Springfield, Virginia. Family Worship Center of Springfield, Virginia was started in early 1998 in a house meeting with approximately 20 people. Almost 10 years later we are experiencing the beginnings of a greater vision. After much study, prayer, and hard work we are now seeing a little clearer the plan of God come to pass with over 450 members studying the Word of God and lifting the Name of Jesus in praise and worship in a state of the art 25,000 sq. ft. facility. This facility houses our church offices, sanctuary, children’s ministry and Youth ministry.
